SNOW!

No, it's not on the ground here yet, but from the feel of the air, it could be any time now! My cards all have snow embellished on them. This first one is flocking. It's a soft look, and in my opinion, could have been a little thicker! These next two are done using liquid applique. Fun to watch it expand and I love the look!

Finally, this cowboy snowman was decorated with frosty stickles. He really sparkles in person!

Random Shots

There were so many new sights for me in Mexico! Loved it all, but took soooo many photos. The pics in the above layout were ones that aren't going to make it onto a layout of their own, but were part of our vacation experience. Great way to get them into the scrapbook anyway!

The layout below was built around the colors of the sunset and the fact that it was where we were for supper on Valentine's Day! Too easy! TFL!

A New Image

Here is a Stampavie stamp I colored with Copics. Is he not the cutest little gardener? I used this new image for a Scrapshotz Card Crew Challenge. The challenge was to use mostly white, 1 image or embellishment, and a greeting. Very simple card, but it works! I am working steadily on my Mexican album. It's probably half way to being complete. Here are the latest additions.I hope to get a couple more done this week! Thanks for looking!

A few fishing layouts and a card

Hi all! It's been a while since I've posted to my blog. I've been out there taking pics and living the good life. We spent almost 2 weeks at Mirond Lake and had a wonderful vacation. It feels pretty great to get back to the scrapbook room, though! Here are some fishing layouts that I've recently completed. I've a few more yet to do!

I actually took a few images and my copics with me to the lake and when it was quiet I was coloring. What a relaxing diversion! And it's so nice to have some pre-colored images on hand for those cards that you need in-a-hurry!

Dh and sil took gson #1 fishing in July! He was so excited to go, but I think the bigger boys were just as excited to take him! I was proud of them for taking the great photos that they did. Thanks, guys!

ScrapShotz Industry Insider Crop - Wow!

I totally got into the theme of this crop. The CT over at SSZ posted some very inspiring challenges that got me using some of my often neglected supplies! Here are some of my projects. (There are quite a few!)

This card was for my challenge - Queen & Co.
This card was made using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Here's my layout using one of my favorite manufacturers, American Crafts. This butterfly layout uses Doodlebug Designs paper. This card was masked with a Tim Holtz mask and inked with Ranger Distress Ink. One of my favorites! Here's some Fancy Pants patterned paper, and a layout about pants, too! LOL! Good one, Jess! This is a basic layout using Basic Grey patterned paper and embellishments.

For the Boys!

High Hopes Challenge #30 is "One for the Boys!" and I have this great HH image that is perfect for it! I colored it with watercolor crayons and cut out the mats with the Nestabilities Large Inverted Scallop Squares. The inverted scallops remind me of waves, so it was a good fit!

Card Crew Color Challenge

This is the paint color card that I used for inspiration for this week's challenge.
I stamped this image with my Year of Flowers stamps from Gina K. Designs. I need to experiment with this some more, but it was fun creating the bouquet! It is colored with Copics then cut out.
I liked how this simple card showcases the color combination.
This card has a lot of texture, thanks to the Cuttlebug embossing folders. It's going to be a busy week, getting ready to go to Scrapfest in Kitchener this weekend! I can hardly wait!

Happy Easter!

I made this card for a recent swap at Scrapshotz. I used my nestabilities die cuts and colored my High Hopes stamp with Copic markers. The bling is Prima and the ribbon is from my stash.

I pretty much used up the entire March Scrapshotz kit of BG Marrakech. It is such versatile paper!I had some scraps left, so made up some cards with them.
My goodness, it felt really good to be scrapping again!

Have a great Easter, and make sure to let your family and friends how important they are to you!

Welcome to the World Record Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the HOP and to my blog! This is a card I made this week with Unity stamps!

Card Ingredients: 80# matte cardstock, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Crate Paper patterned paper (Static Collection), Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black), Unity Stamps (October/November KOTM), Basic Grey glazed brad, Copic Sketch markers, Nestabilities (Sml Classic Oval, Sml Scalloped Oval), Close to My Heart liquid glass, misc. twill ribbon and machine stitching.

This is a favorite quote:

"Perhaps, after all, our best thoughts come when we are alone. It is good to listen, not to voices but to the wind blowing, to the brook running cool over polished stones, to bees drowsy with the weight of pollen. If we attend to the music of the earth, we reach serenity. And then, in some unexplained way, we share it with others." Gladys Taber

Enjoy the journey!!! TTFN!

Keep It Simple Card Challenge

I was asked to be part of a new "Card Crew" at Scrapshotz. Thanks for the invitation, girls! I'm honored. I posted my first challenge today, and it will hopefully inspire some simple, easy to mail cards! This is the example I posted. I used Basic Grey patterned paper, the butterfly and sentiment are Rhonna Farrer rub ons, Stampendous bling stickers and Colorbox chalk ink.

This morning...

I woke up to a cold, miserable, rainy day. So I prayed for the strength to get up, get dressed and run five miles. Then I rolled over and went back to sleep. I had prayed for strength but received wisdom instead. Anonymous

Love that quote. LOL! Here's a card I made last week for a card tag at Scrapshotz.

More Layout Tags

Thank goodness for layout tags! I haven't done any scrapping for quite a while except for when I commit to a 'tag!'

This one was fun! I took an online course at ScrapShotz, taught by the talented (and patient!) Kathy Thompson. Here's my first digi tag layout!

Then just last week, we had another tag. I started this one off by choosing a layout from the Scrapshotz gallery for inspiration. Here's my lift!

Last week's card challenge was to use Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I sprayed this card front with Hydrangea Glimmer Mist over a Tattered Angels Stencil, then added the sentiment, ribbon and the Kaiser pearls.

I was very pleased with how it turned out, and was honored that Cari Locken (she's on the Scrapshotz Creative Team) choose to showcase my card on the SSZ blog! Check it out here! Scrapshotz Blog

Fancy Pants Valentines

I made Valentine's Day cards for our local Card Club swap in January. I used the Fancy Pants Splendid Die Cuts and embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder. I added some fun ribbon, bling and stickles and ta-dah - finished! They were fun and easy to do, and I had lots of variety! TFL!
